Woods, E.M.N. (c. 1862-1919)

Edward Montague N. Woods was the court-appointed lawyer who represented Mewa Singh at his trial for the murder of Inspector Hopkinson. He was born in Victoria of English descent and died there but practised law in Vancouver for twelve years. He was an experienced and successful criminal lawyer who had appeared frequently before the Court of Appeal.
